Womens socks are a fashion world unto themselves. They range from the classy and sedate to the funky to the whimsical. Then you have the exotic, the sleazy ... in short, you have just about every facet of the world of womens socks!

When I was a little girl, I remember my mother's socks. Sure, they were nice enough, but they weren't anything special. "A sock is a sock," everyone thought. What's the big deal?

I changed my tune in recent years, when I saw for myself some of the exciting womens footwear being offered. As usual, the top designers are at the head of the pack: Donna Karan and HUE, to name only two. Whose merchandise you choose to purchase really depends on what you want in a sock.

For example, if you want some of the finest womens hosiery available in classic styles, Donna Karan is a great designer for you. Her socks and hosiery are pricier than the average, but well worth it. However, if you want funky, fun, and adventurous, I'd look at the HUE's selection of womens socks.
